It’s got everything that a good trekking boot needs – nothing more, nothing less – to accompany you on a multi-day or multi-week trek. This classic, timeless boot would be perfect for long-distance hikes, such as the Fjällräven Classic in Sweden. The HANWAG Wide last has a standard heel section, but is wider at the forefoot and ball of the foot – made for people who find standard models too narrow. The boot fits the female foot optimally because it’s made over a women’s-specific last and has a corresponding sole construction. Its one-piece leather upper in high-quality, robust nubuck has fewer seams, which makes it particularly resistant to dirt and easy to care for – ideal for long treks then. This updated version has a softer ankle cuff and instep made of robust fabric. For weather protection, there is a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane. And on diverse, rugged terrain such as the Swedish ‘Kungsleden’ hiking trail, the Vibram Fuoraska sole with its 6.5 mm tread depth and marked heel delivers excellent grip and traction.
